The College of Liberal Arts recognizes faculty at fall reception
The College of Liberal Arts recognized six faculty with awards at their 2007 Fall Reception held Thursday, Sept. 27 in MSC 206. The Association of Former Students College-Level Teaching Award went to Valerie Balester, associate professor of English; Marian Eide, associate professor of English; Andrew Kirkendall, associate professor of history and Antonio LaPastina, associate professor of communication. The College of Liberal Arts Research Award went to Political Science Professor Kim Hill and History Professor Walter Kamphoefner.
Department heads and interdisciplinary program directors introduced 24 new faculty members. These new faculty members represent 11 of the college’s 12 departments with seven being joint appointments in either Africana studies or women’s studies. The college also recognized six faculty and staff members who had retired between Sept. 1, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2007.
