02/08/08 - Zamora to Present Humanities Book Prize Lecture Wednesday

for Humanities Research at Texas A&M has announced that Lois
Parkinson Zamora, professor of comparative literature and art history
at the University of Houston, is the recipient of the 9th Annual
Susanne M. Glasscock Humanities Book Prize for Interdisciplinary
Scholarship. Zamora, who won the prize for her book “The Inordinate
Eye: New World Baroque and Latin American Fiction” (University of
Chicago Press, 2006), will present a lecture titled “The Baroque Self:
Frida Kahlo and Gabriel García Márquez,” at 4 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 13)
in the Glasscock Building, Room 311.
