Aggie Players Perform Comedy- Lend Me a Tenor

Aggie Players’ will perform Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor, a comedy directed by Assistant Theatre Arts Lecturer Amy Hopper on Nov. 13-16 and Nov. 20-23 in Rudder Forum. Thursday through Saturday performances are at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2:00 p.m. Set in September 1934, the comedy is centered around the hilarious mishaps that occur when Tito Merelli, the greatest tenor of his generation, arrives for a one night performance at the Cleveland Grand Opera.

Lend Me a Tenor, by Ken Ludwig, is a frenetic, frenzied farce full of mistaken identities, opera-singing bellhops and doors aplenty,” said Hopper. “Funny and fun, the production has been a joy to work on with the dedicated cast, crew and designers.”

Hopper is an assistant lecturer at Texas A&M University and the Co-Founder of Houston’s Nova Arts Project, a theatre company dedicated to recreating classics and inspiring new works in a fearlessly theatrical way. Hopper has directed Stella….Stella For Star and Richard III, and acted in Oedipus 3, Hamlet, The Tragic and Tragiful Tragedy of The Ambassadors and temp Odyssey. “If you need a break from studying for engineering and/or engineering a date night guaranteed to impress your special someone, or you just love to laugh--this is the play for you!” said Hopper.
