Newsom will be recognized at the association’s annual conference in Louisville, Ky. on March 23, 2010.
The Collegiate Conference and Events Professional certification program (CCEP) was established by ACCED-I in 1991. Candidates are required to present evidence of substantial professional experience, volunteer service to the profession and complete a lengthy research-based examination.
“We are proud that Jennifer chose to pursue this rigorous professional development opportunity,” said Charles A. Johnson, dean of the College of Liberal Arts. “The college will be better served because of her commitment to further develop her skills as our event coordinator.”

Upon receiving the CCEP designation, Newsom said, “I accepted the challenge to complete my professional certification process because I believed that it would directly impact my ability to do my job on a daily basis. I am proud to receive this recognition from my peers and am ready to aspire to new challenges.”
