Diversity Statement

We in the College of Liberal Arts are committed to creating an environment that supports diversity at Texas A&M University. We support a curriculum that introduces students to diverse ideas, to different cultures, and to varied approaches in addressing issues of the day. We support scholarship that explores differences in social, political, and economic systems, and that increases our understanding of the history and development of different societies and views of the human condition. And we strive to recruit, welcome, and retain students and faculty with different backgrounds and diverse points of view.

International and Cultural Diversity Requirement

The International and Cultural Diversity requirement encourages all students to learn about attitudes and cultures different from their own. All students must complete six hours as part of the University's core curriculum.
