The Department of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University is a diverse department of teacher scholars one of whose goals it is to explore with our students the rich and varied languages, literatures, and cultures of the Hispanic World. The Department offers a Bachelors and Masters in Spanish, and a Doctoral degree in Hispanic Studies. With faculty deeply rooted in the liberal arts and through a curriculum ranging from offers beginning to advanced classes in Spanish and Portuguese, our students learn to think critically and to understand complexity, similarity, and divergence in the many Hispanic cultures. The Department encourages and provides support for students to study abroad in Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking countries, and our graduates go on to pursue careers in all walks of life.
