College of Liberal Arts → A Cornerstone College Texas A&M University

The Liberal Arts Staff Development Committee (LASDC), which meets twice monthly, is comprised of one representative from each department in the College of Liberal Arts, one person representing institutes, centers, and staffed program offices in the College, one representative from the Public Policy Research Institute, and an ex officio staff member from the Office of the Dean who assists the committee in its work.

The committee as a whole is responsible for monitoring ongoing staff development needs across the College and for enhancing the development of staff through various College-sponsored workshops, programs, and recommendations to the Dean. Representatives are individually responsible for exchanging information among staff in their units and the LASDC regarding staff development needs. This includes seeking input from staff members in their units about professional development needs and working with the committee to ensure that College-level workshops reflect these needs, either in short-term or long-term planning. Members are also responsible for maintaining these open lines of communication between the committee and their units before, during, and after college workshops.
