Purpose/Mission

The Executive Council is composed of department heads and directors of interdisciplinary programs that have jointly appointed faculty. This council is not a policy-making council, but one that discusses issues concerning the day-to-day management of the college’s academic units having tenured and tenure-track faculty.

The dean meets with this council twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays, and more often as required. A summary of action items is kept for each meeting and is distributed to all department heads, center/institute directors, and directors of all interdisciplinary programs.

The college’s associate and assistant deans are ex officio members of this council. Additional members of the dean’s executive staff will attend meetings as appropriate.
