Endowed Professorships and Chairs
Endowed faculty appointments signify a level of accomplishment by
the faculty member so honored. An endowed chair or professorship is an
academic distinction bestowed upon a scholar of either national or
international reputation. Such a faculty member has demonstrated
scholarly distinction and leadership in an academic discipline. An
endowed faculty fellowship recognizes young or mid-level scholars of
exceptional potential, who have either begun to make headway on the
national scene or are on the verge of gaining national attention.
