Nomination Guidelines
The following is provided as a tool to help in preparing the nomination packet. In addition to factors unique to a nominee's performance, inclusion of some of the following factors may strengthen the nomination packet.

Job Excellence
Document how the nominee produces work of the highest quality, seeks additional tasks; is recognized by co‑workers as a peak performer; demonstrates exceptional knowledge and skills in the most complex aspects of the job and demonstrates a willingness to continually improve on that knowledge; constantly anticipates and meets the needs of administrators, faculty, staff, and students; always communicates and works well with others.
Attitude, Support for the Quality of Work Life and Diversity
Document how the nominee excels in open communication skills while maintaining a positive attitude toward the work place, colleagues, and co‑workers; promotes a supportive work environment and always displays behavior that respects and values individual differences; always treats others with dignity and respect; is actively involved in diversity initiatives.
Leadership
Document how the nominee brings out the best in others; encourages and recognizes publicly and privately the good work and ideas of colleagues or co‑workers; shares expertise, trains others, positively presents the goals of the department and College, and directs others (as applicable) in the achievement of those goals; demonstrates good communication skills, good listening skills, and good ability to resolve potential conflicts creatively and courteously; inspires others to excel; leads by example; makes timely and productive decisions and uses resources wisely; delegates effectively.
Ingenuity, Innovation, Initiative
Document how the nominee handles unexpected challenges, masters new tasks, offers new ideas to advance the department =s goals, and encourages similar ingenuity from colleagues or co‑workers; constantly exhibits independent action and resourcefulness; exercises outstanding judgment on knowing when to seek guidance from supervisor; is highly motivated; makes exceptional contributions to efficient operation of department; consistently seeks ways to improve work methods; offers constructive and detailed positive suggestions.
CLASS Team Award
Job Excellence
Document that the team performed at an unusually high level consistently during the previous academic year and/or the role the team played in working on a special initiative/goal during a specific period of time.
Impact
Document the impact of the team and who benefitted from their efforts.
Innovation
Document how the team used innovative or creative problem solving in facing specific challenges or in advancing the department.
