James W. Grau, professor of psychology
Mary Tucker Currie Professorship in Liberal Arts
2008
Jim Grau uses the Mary Tucker Currie Professorship to maintain and further research using an animal model to explore how spinal cord mechanisms adapt in new environmental relations and after injury. Grau hopes that understanding the mechanisms involved in spinal cord plasticity will provide insights into restoring function after spinal cord injury. Specifically, the professorship supports salary for laboratory staff, supplies, and attendance at national and international meetings.
